The DarkSide BBS

Internet

Internet mailboxes are available for free on the DarkSide. The mail is routed through the MicroNet system where it passes on to the internet. When mail passes this gateway a short message is sent to the sender informing them of the date and time of the passage. As the MicroNet system is a local Sonoma County system that does not require long distance calls, mail can go through in a matter of hours as compared to the day required by the non-local networks. Once e-mail reaches the internet delivery is almost instantaneous as systems are in a constant state of connection.

DarkSide users can choose an ip name for use in there internet address as opposed to being assigned one. The only restriction is there may be no more than eight alpha-numeric characters.
