The Mezzanine's Telnet Access is Back!
The Mezzanine BBS's first telnet access test concluded back in January, 2002. Many thanks to all the folks who connected back then to help test it out.
Late Breaking News September 7, 2003:
- The Mezzanine BBS telnet access is back. Click here to download a preconfigured session file for DataComet, a recommended telnet client for Macintosh users for accessing The Mezzanine over the Internet. Many thanks to Michael Alyn Miller for his continuing work on Hermes II. For more information on the current status of The Hermes II Project, be sure to check the official Hermes II web site periodically at www.hermesii.org.
- File transfers are disabled for TCP/IP sessions, but remain available on dialup sessions.
- Please leave feedback ("F" at main prompt) if you do connect!
Test results as of January 24, 2002:
- No problems reported with basic login.
- Some issues observed with display of ANSI color graphics embedded in messages.
- File downloading did not work for any Mac users.
- File downloading did work for one Windows user.
- Most callers left no feedback, so I have little else to report.
- The only failures revealed in the logs were associated with file transfers.
Once again, my thanks to all of you who connected to the earlier test bbs. I'm now ready to do some further telnet testing. Meanwhile, The Mezzanine BBS also remains available via dialup at 940-565-9165.
Stop by and see us!
