Tim's Bored BBS

(Picture of the BBS log-on screen)

This BBS is funded by my video production business.  Currently I'm not charging anything for access, and I'll do this as long as possible, but if anyone wishes to contribute anything, donations will be cheerfully accepted.

There are a few reasons I run the BBS...

Not heard of a BBS before?

Before the Internet came along as a popular thing to do, there were Bulletin Board Services.  Commonly they are run on someone's computer as an interest, and you call them up directly with your computer.  It's more personal than the net as they are mainly a local thing only.  And if you want to swap files between friends they're a simple way to do it.  And cheap too, many BBSs are completely free, or only charge for some of their services.

What's on my BBS?

There are program files for Amiga and IBM computers (the main emphasis on the Amiga, most of the IBM files are due to a friend of mine with a DOS / Windows 3 computer), with space reserved for Macintosh computers too, and data files which should be usable on any computer type.  And a local message area for keeping in touch, there's also a trading mail area for trading and getting rid of things (reproduced here, to help move the stuff).

Contact information:

Note:  The BBS is currently out of action, due to technical issues (no spare phone line).  But I've kept this information, here, partly for historic reasons, and because the MODEM information is still useful.

For those people who like to use my BBS, and want to keep their access, they should read the rules for using my BBS when they log on, as I'd rather spend my time enjoying using the BBS, and not fixing things.

I run the BBS using Amiga computers because I prefer Amiga computers, and I can rely on them.
