Frequently Asked Questions

Q1What is this site about?
A1This site contains all kinds of information, that is related to Dragon's Cave BBS
---
Q2OK! Eh ... what IS Dragon's Cave BBS??
A2Dragon's Cave is a "good old fashion" Bulletin Board System.
---
Q3I'm new to this term 'BBS', what is it, and what does it mean? Can you tell me a little bit more?
A3Certainly. Quoting The BBS Corner: BBS is almost like a miniaturized Internet. Users can read and write messages at discussion forums, upload & download files and play online games. BBSs are character based. Meaning no graphic interface. Well, not entirely without graphics, but most parts. There are different colors and graphics that are based on text characters. That's called 'ANSI' graphics. Look here for example picture
---
Q4Door games? What are those?
A4Door games are also text-based games, which you can play via BBS. Don't be alarmed, they are not difficult to learn or play! And actually they are very addictive; you can find yourself "hooked up" to doors in couple of days :-) . Please feel free to examine our selection of door games here.
---
Q5Where can I get more detailed information about BBSs?
A5The good place to start is The BBS Corner. From there you can get lots of information concerning Bulletin Board Systems.
---
Q6OK, I would like to come and visit your BBS, how do I do that?
A6The best way to do that, is to use a Telnet program and point it to the following address: bbs.dcbbs.net . A basic telnet software comes with Windows 95®, 98®, ME® and NT®. You can start it by pressing "Start"-button, selecting "Run"-command and typing "telnet bbs.dcbbs.net" and pressing enter. However, we strongly recommend you to use better telnet software, that the one what comes with Windows. It doesn't show colours and all the ANSI graphics shows wrong. With Windows 2000, there is more sophisticated telnet software included. You can find a list of (better) telnet softwares from here.
---
Q7Does your system require registration?
A7Yes, it does- But it's very short and simple questionnaire what you are required to fill. The given information is strictly confidential and will not be given or sold to any third party.
---
Q8I still have a question, where can I get more information?
A8Please don't hesitate to contact us, if you have any questions what so ever! You can contact us via e-mail, or filling out the feedback form on the website.
